Update;

I have now finished filming and plan to soon show my film to a focus group to get feedback on their opinions through a questionnaire, I am now looking in on how to word and place my magazine article so it fits an online layout and works with my film and poster.

poster;

 These are examples of how i got to my final poster with different variations of writing and where the writing is placed;

My poster will be shown online on the side of websites, e.g; film websites and review websites and also as a postcard sized poster as i have planned my poster to be small in size.

This is my final poster;
For my final poster i cropped an image that i took whilst filming so that it was focused upon the knife, I edited the cropped image to darken it, brighten the knife and make it a sharper image because i wanted a grainy dull effect. Also i used the burn tool around the edges to focus on the knife even more so that when the audience looks at it the knife is what their focus leads to. I then found a text which i felt fit with the genre and put the title in a dull red colour and the rest in white so they stand out. I made sure the names of the actor and actress were level in line with the ruler tool to make sure the poster was equal.

My final poster after the improvements made from the opinions of my focus group;

Reflection;

I will have hopefully completed editing by the end of this week as i only have final tweaks to do, today i am going to start creating the final poster idea that i had and try complete that as soon as possible.

I need to;

create a focus group to gather feed back for my short film.

Write a rough review and complete the final one.

Poster;

 I am using this poster idea which i created through cutting a picture i had taken of the male character so the main artefact of the poster is the knife and added effects and edited it so it is dark and grainy. I will use one of the 3 pictures below as the blurred face of the female character as she looks scared and confused in them.

Interim reflection/evaluation;

29th January;
I have nearly finished editing and have already created some mock examples of posters, also i have been looking more in depth of how different online magazines are written and worded so i will start to create rough drafts of that soon. I think i am on good timing for the deadline and feel i can have all of this done by then.

Strengths; i created a good timescale in which i stuck to and had filmed quite quickly so that i had more time to edit and create my poster and review, also as i already knew well how to use iMovie this made editing a lot easier and quicker for me.

Weaknesses; Due to the weather when filming the first time my storyboard had to change, although it is not how it was planned i feel changing it to happen throughout a couple of days looks and works better with the storyline. Also having a part time job meant that i couldn't do much work out of school so it has to be done in the time i have in lessons and also free periods.

Outcome; I feel the outcome of my short film is how i wanted it to be, i had a good opportunity to film in a pub which made the whole of the middle of the film work a lot better because it created a social and public atmosphere but this still didn't effect the males personality as he turns weird as the conversation progressed. Also that i have free periods to finish the project in.

Threats; Having enough time to complete all 3 projects.

magazine reviews;

I have been reading different reviews in magazines so that i can see the difference in them and online reviews, I have looked at Empire although I am not using this I like how the reviews of Sherlock Holmes 2 and The Women In Black are written. I am now beggining to look at online reviews as this is how I am planning on showing my review.

hidden reasons in scenes;

In the scene of the male character within his house lighting a candle and looking as his knifes, I chose to use a dark purple candle as I wanted to imply that the male character has purposely put feminine comforts in his house, objects that are sterotypical of women, so that when he lures women in they feel like he is senstive and feel comfortable. This will juxtapose well with my representation of his real character.
